What cannot be heated by a quartz crucible

In the laboratory, special instruments such as quartz crucibles are often used to achieve heating operations, mainly because of their stable performance and strong heat resistance. However, because the main component of this product is silicon dioxide, some things cannot be heated:
1. Caustic soda.
It is composed of caustic soda, sodium hydroxide, and quartz crucible, which are made of silicon dioxide and react with each other. 2NaOH silica=Na2sio3H2O
2. Molten sodium carbonate crystals.
Sodium carbonate reacts with a quartz crucible at high temperatures to produce sodium silicate and carbon dioxide; The reason is that na2co 3 SiO2=na2sio 3 CO2 is expressed by a chemical equation.
3. It cannot be used to heat caustic soda, alkali metal carbonates, alkaline earth metals and their oxides.
Note that when operating in the laboratory, first determine whether it will react with silicon dioxide, and after confirming that no reaction will occur, heat it with a quartz crucible. Generally speaking, it mainly refers to chemical products that cannot be heated.
